[Ended] Urbanist (Regional Development Director) training program
2018.04.15
We need to train directors who develop regions nationwide urgently. Demand to work on regional development with public, private and academic partnerships is increasing and the Urban Design Centers (UDC) such as the UDCK are also increasing nationwide. In this background, we need directors for regional development.
However, the roles are required in a variety of jobs and the functions of the roles are different from conventional planners or architects. We need experts who have excellent communication skills and various skills in research and analysis, making drafts of master plans, urban space designs and planning, management of coordination and utilization, producer functions to organize events, as well as workshop facilitation. In short, they are professionals to make a city be the city which it is supposed to be. We call the professionals ‘Urbanists’.
For this time, with the aim of training the Urbanists by using UDC’s accumulated know-how, we decided to open the Urbanist training program. The training lecturers are all experts who are in the forefront and proactively working in real fields. At the first training session, we will open a 2-day-course with the theme of ‘Design Structure’. Please join us if you’re interested in it.
